GIRLS BEAT BOYS IN UACE RESULTS

Yesterday UNEB  released UACE results for students  who sat s.6  last year.
A total of 111,456 candidates sat for the exams, Female candidates performed better than males at A’Level in History, Economics, IRE,Geography, CRE,  Literature in English and Mathematics. Male candidates only beat females in science subjects.

Exams for 34 candidates have been withheld due to malpractices, This number shows a huge improvement from 2012 where results of 404 students were withheld.

.According to Mathew Bukenya the UNEB executive secretary about 97% of the candidates who sat the exams qualify for the award of UACE.

” At least 53.8 per cent of the candidates passed at the 2P level, the minimum pass level considered for admission to university,” Mr Bukenya said at the release in Kampala

He also noted Improvement in performance at principal pass level was in Economics CRE, IRE, Physics, Agriculture and Chemistry. Although  Entrepreneurship, Literature and Biology dropped in performance.
