Color blocking has over the years become an inevitable fashion trend. How you put your outfit together will determine how you will look. Many people, men and women love color blocked outfits because it brings out someone’s uniqueness and also creates an individual fashion statement.
It is important that one strategically places contrasting yet complimentary colors together if you are to acquire a unique fashion statement.
The concept of color blocking is one of wearing bright or clashing colors but still be able to look amazing. According to fibre2fashion magazine, color blocking started in London when British youth in the 1960s started putting together bright and bold colors and wore them in geometric patterns.
In Uganda, color blocking became a huge trend in 2011 with many uptown youths starting to embrace it. Now people put red and blue colored outfits together, pink and white, yellow and green among others.
Such outfits can be worn anywhere but carefully. If you work in an office, you can still do color blocking but keep it simple and less shocking. Use a maximum of three colors as more than that may make you look like a clown. You may also complete this look with some jewelry, although it should be as little as possible, as big jewelry may spoil the whole look.
